The physical environment of both our homes is specifically designed to accommodate the multiple needs of dementia persons, minimizing excess disability and maximizing function.
Our highly qualified staff are well educated in the complex nature of Alzheimer's/Dementia and the sometimes accompanied challenging behavior. Lakeview Ranch has a 24-hour awake staff, to provide individual attention and activities for residents.
Our exceptionally high staff ratio allows additional attention to each resident's individual emotional, and spiritual needs in addition to their physical needs. Our high staff-to-resident ratio also contributes significantly to staff continuity, which is extremely important to Alzheimer's/Dementia residents.
Cognitive assessments are incorporated in the initial screening of each potential new resident and are on going. This assessment is key to assuring both the family and Lakeview Ranch that our home is capable of meeting the resident's needs and individual care plan. Care plans are then reviewed, monthly, by a staff RN and are adjusted as necessary.
Lakeview Ranch's Rural Environment and Nature Center will allow for residents continued involvement with familiar life activities such as: interaction with animals, gardening, fishing, leisure boat rides, and community-based activities.
Unique activities designed to encourage independence and participation of our residents, where possible, will contribute significantly to increased feelings of self-esteem and enjoyment in their everyday lives.
