Decision Time A message from Judy... "As a former caregiver for my own mother with dementia, I have personally experienced the denial of the progression of my mother’s disease, the agony of acceptance, and the guilt surrounding my decision to have to place my mother in full time care. I was torn between the feeling that it was my desire and MY responsibility, as her daughter, to provide for my mother’s needs personally until her death AND then the realization that my wish was no longer possible, nor appropriate or safe for her. It is our hope that the following short video of some of our resident family members, sharing their stories about their own personal struggle with this decision, may be of some comfort to your and help you recognize the importance of also taking care of yourself. Recognizing your limitations, utilizing respite services when necessary, and accepting when the time is appropriate for full time services is one of the toughest decisions you will ever make. Lakeview Ranch is committed to helping families through this process and hope our services will provide you the peace of mind and the opportunity to spend quality time with your loved one, without the tremendous stress of every day care that accompanies this devastating disease of dementia. We will provide support for you and your loved one as you walk this journey". Please wait. Video download in progress...
